Stone, Magnified.
The Blush Marble Cell Plate looks like a cross-section of something ancient — a warm blush-pink surface covered edge to edge in a dense, irregular network of rounded cells, each one outlined in a fine dark line of deep brown-charcoal. The pattern reads like coral fossil, magnified marble veining, or the surface of a dried salt flat seen from above. It is simultaneously geological and organic, structured and unpredictable.
The cell glaze effect is produced entirely in the kiln — the result of glaze tension and surface chemistry interacting under heat, causing the glaze to pull apart into thousands of individual rounded forms. No two plates share the same cell size, density, or distribution. The profile is low and wide, with a naturally uneven rim that makes clear this was shaped by hand. The exterior transitions from the warm blush of the face to a deep charcoal-grey at the base — a grounding contrast that gives the plate unexpected weight.
