White Porcelain. Butterflies at Rest.
A covered soup bowl in high-white porcelain, its surface scattered with hand-painted botanical butterflies — each one rendered with the precision of a natural history illustration, wings open mid-flight, no two positioned the same way.
Form & Decoration
A wide, round bowl with gently fluted vertical ribs pressed into the body — the surface divided into soft panels that catch the light differently as the piece turns. Across these panels, two or three butterflies are placed freely: one large monarch in warm amber and brown on the bowl body, a smaller orange specimen on the lid dome. The lid is a low, smooth dome with a square rounded-corner knob — plain white, its four faces each carrying a single vertical groove. The overall palette is pure white and natural insect colour — no gold, no border lines, no pattern repeat.
