A Garden of Wings. Three Pieces.
A gaiwan tea set scattered with hand-painted butterflies in full colour — monarch orange, morpho blue, sulphur yellow, and ghost grey — each one a different species, each placed freely across the surface as though mid-flight through a white field.
Form & Decoration
A wide-mouthed gaiwan in high-white porcelain, its exterior walls divided by soft vertical ribs into gentle panels. Six or more butterflies are distributed freely across the bowl body and lid dome — varying in size, species, and orientation, no two the same. The lid carries a shallow disc-form knob with a slightly upturned rim, plain white. The saucer has a scalloped petal edge traced in a fine gold line, its surface scattered with the same butterfly motifs continuing from the cup. The interior of the cup is plain white throughout.
