Cosmic Nebula Glaze Shallow Ceramic Plate

The Cosmic Nebula Plate looks like something seen from orbit. At its centre, a soft luminous cloud of pale moonstone white blooms outward — its edges dissolving into the deep matte black of the rim in a gradient so gradual it has no clear boundary. The effect is atmospheric, almost gaseous: less like a pattern applied to a surface, and more like light diffusing through cloud cover over a dark planet.

The glaze transition is produced entirely in the kiln — the result of layered glazes interacting under heat, pooling toward the centre and thinning toward the rim. No two plates share the same cloud formation. The profile is exceptionally low and wide, with a barely-there rim that gives the plate an almost disc-like silhouette from the side — flat, quiet, and precise.
