The Deep Sea Bubble Plate looks like something dredged from the deep — a dense, high-gloss surface of steel blue and navy, pitted with thousands of fine pinhole craters across its entire face. Here and there, a streak of pale glaze has pooled and caught the light, breaking the dark surface like bioluminescence in still water. The effect is simultaneously mineral and aquatic, ancient and alive.

The bubble texture is a natural result of the glaze chemistry — gases escaping through the molten glaze during firing leave behind a field of micro-craters that give the surface its distinctive tactile depth. No two plates share the same distribution of pits, pools, or highlights. The profile is low and wide, with a clean rim and a smooth, continuous curve from edge to centre. The exterior deepens from steel blue to near-black at the base — like the colour of the ocean as the light runs out.

Use & Care
