A Peony in Full Bloom, Sealed in Blue and White.
The peony is the flower of wealth and honour in classical Chinese culture — full, generous, and impossible to overlook. This boiler Jar carries that emblem across every surface, in the hand-painted cobalt blue manner of the Fu Lu series.
Form & Decoration
A wide-shouldered jar in glossy ivory porcelain, its profile swelling at the shoulder before tapering to a raised foot ring — the classic apple-jar silhouette of Ming dynasty covered vessels. The surface is covered in hand-painted peony scroll: large, open blooms with layered petals, connected by a continuous curling vine that fills every inch of white ground. The domed lid mirrors the shoulder curve exactly, its apex marked by a small cinnabar red knob — the single point of colour that anchors the entire composition.
