A White Gourd, Freshly Picked from the Vine.
The gourd has been a symbol of good fortune in Chinese culture for millennia — its rounded form abundant, its hollow interior generous, its vine endless. This set takes that symbol and renders it in the purest ivory porcelain, then sets it on a ground of midnight blue and gold that makes the white appear to glow.
The Meissen White Gourd Double-Boiler Jar
A spherical bowl in glossy ivory porcelain, its generous base narrowing at the waist before the lid rises into a smooth gourd neck and terminates in a naturally curved stem finial — unhurried, organic, as if the form grew rather than was made. The silhouette is unmistakable from across the room: part vessel, part sculpture, entirely its own. The glaze is pure and undecorated, letting the form carry everything.
The Fu Lu Gold Tengyun Saucer
A wide, flat disc in deep midnight blue glaze, its broad rim painted with gold gourd vine and floral motifs that wind continuously around the edge — the same auspicious vocabulary as the wider Fu Lu Gold collection, compressed into a frame for the white vessel above. A fine gold line traces the outer rim, completing the composition.
