Gold Thread — 11" Flat Dinner Plate

At 28.5cm, this is the largest plate in the Gold Thread collection — and the one where the guilloché pattern reaches its full expression. The rim band is wider, the wave amplitude higher, the inner edge rising and falling in a continuous scalloped curve rather than a straight line.

Form & Decoration

A wide, flat disc in high-white porcelain, its profile a single shallow arc — 2cm from table to rim, the walls barely perceptible in silhouette. The rim carries a broad band of dense warm-gold guilloché — overlapping elliptical spirals with a pronounced wave rhythm, their inner boundary forming a continuous scalloped edge that moves in and out against the plain white centre. A deep cobalt blue line — wider and more emphatic than on the smaller pieces — traces the outer boundary; a fine gold line runs at the very rim. The centre is a large, uninterrupted plain white circle.
