A Vessel for the Utensil.
A chopstick rest that refuses to be merely functional — its wave-ridge silhouette, its gold-inlaid interior, its cobalt blue dividing lines all insisting that the object at rest deserves as much attention as the object in use.
Form & Decoration
A long, narrow oval in high-white porcelain — its plan view a pointed ellipse, its side profile a continuous wave of three gentle peaks and two valleys, the ridges forming natural resting points for chopsticks and spoon. The exterior is entirely plain white. Inside, the two end sections are filled with warm-gold guilloché — the same dense overlapping arc-weave as the rest of the collection — separated from the plain white centre by a pair of deep cobalt blue vertical lines, one on each side. A fine gold line traces the inner rim continuously from end to end.
