Two Herons. One Flame. A Room Transformed.
The oil lamp is one of the oldest objects in domestic life. This one places that ancient form in the vocabulary of classical Chinese literati painting — deep night-sky blue, white herons in the reeds, a brass flame at the crown.
The Porcelain Oil Reservoir
A compact square-section base in deep Ji-blue glaze, each face softly concave. On the front, two white egrets are painted by hand among gold-brushed reed stems in the loose, confident manner of Song dynasty bird-and-flower painting — a scene complete in itself, visible through the glass when the lamp is lit.
The Brass Burner & Glass Chimney
A polished brass burner with side-mounted wick adjuster sits at the neck, topped with a clear glass chimney in the classic kerosene lamp profile — wide at the base, narrowing at the waist, flaring at the mouth.
