The Warming Stand

A high-footed pedestal in deep midnight blue glaze, its surface mapped with fine gold kintsugi lines that fracture and branch across the cobalt like lightning preserved in ceramic. The cylindrical base is pierced with four quatrefoil windows — a classical Chinese lattice motif borrowed from garden pavilions and palace screens — that allow candlelight or a warming element to breathe through the form, casting patterned shadows on the table beneath. The wide, flat platform above is finished with a fine silver rim, a stage set for what rests upon it.

The Double-Boiler Jar

Ivory-white porcelain in a gently tapered cone — wide at the rim, narrowing to a small, stable base — with walls thick enough to hold heat and smooth enough to reflect it. The interior is pure and undecorated, designed to let the contents speak. The domed lid fits with a satisfying precision, its surface curving upward to a small, barrel-shaped knob glazed in deep cinnabar red — the single point of colour that anchors the entire composition and makes it impossible to look away.
