A Flame Caught in Glass.
There is a moment just after a candle is extinguished when the smoke rises in a single, unhurried curl — twisting upward before dissolving into the air. This cloche captures that moment and holds it still. It is one of the most arresting objects you can place on a table, and it does not require explanation.
The Hand-Blown Glass Cloche
Formed entirely by breath and gravity, the cloche begins as a wide, generous dome — its walls thin and perfectly clear, magnifying whatever rests beneath with the quiet distortion of a lens. From the apex, the glass narrows and rises into a long, sinuous tail that bends and twists freely as the glassblower draws it upward — no two pieces identical, each one a record of a single unrepeatable gesture. The tail is the signature: part flame, part brushstroke, part question mark. It catches light from every angle and casts a shifting shadow on the surface below.
The Midnight Blue Saucer
A wide, low disc in deep midnight blue glaze — its surface smooth and even, darkening toward the centre where a shallow circular recess is pressed into the clay to receive and stabilise the cloche base. The rim is traced in fine gold, a single line that defines the edge without competing with the drama above. The blue is the colour of deep water at dusk: not quite navy, not quite grey, entirely its own.
