The Weight of Tradition. The Finish of Now.
A pair of chopsticks that takes the oldest utensil in Chinese dining and renders it in materials that feel entirely of the present.
Form & Materials
Crafted from deep-grain rosewood — known in Chinese as Ziguang Tan, one of the most prized hardwoods in classical furniture and instrument making — each chopstick is cut to a precise square cross-section that sits flat and still between the fingers, never rolling, never slipping. The body is finished in a deep matte black lacquer that absorbs light rather than reflecting it, giving the wood a density and presence that polished finishes cannot achieve.
At the head, a short square cap in brushed matte gold carries a delicate engraved motif — fine bamboo leaves pressed into the metal with the restraint of a seal carving. The transition from black to gold is clean and deliberate: two materials, one object, no excess.
Long enough for formal dining. Precise enough for the most delicate dish. A pair of chopsticks that belongs on a table set with intention.
